Allan Anderson
For some reason, Punky never seems to have a lot of guy friends. Maybe the show was all about Girl Power, maybe guys get intimidated by a girl who takes out one of their comadres with a swift right hook to the eye, whatever. Heck, even one of the two guy friends she already had disappeared within like a week (or however long you want to think that "Walk Pool"/"Gone Fishing" lasted). Maybe that's why Allan seems so confused all of the time; he's acting that way so he doesn't get tossed. Then again, I think that that marks the first time in television history that a white male has ever played the token minority of the cast. The first big thing to know about Allan is that he's... well, you know how Yogi Bear is smarter than the average bear? Well, Allan is someone who wishes he could be the average bear. No matter what way you slice it, there's no denying that he's not the smartest of guys. He's the kind of guy who's done such swift things like negotiating himself a 3/$1.00 salary for washing dogs (up from 50 cents each). Unfortunately for him, it appears to be a genetic thing; his family shows up in a couple of episodes, and... yeah. I'll leave it at that. Fortunately, he knows exactly how to make up for being as sharp as a bag of feathers; being a complete goofball. Occasionally, he can't figure out where to stop, but whether intentional or not, he tends to get a good laugh. Actually, most times it's unintentional, but that's what makes it funny. It's sort of like what would happen if you gave Ralph Wiggum enough IQ points to realize what a joke is, but not enough to realize when it's on him. If there's one big positive to Allan, though, it's that he's rarely halfway about what he does. If he's excited, he's excited. If he wants to be a clown, he'll blitz you with the jokes until you want him to go away. Whatever scheme Punky has cooked up, Allan's at least willing to go along with it, if he's not leading the charge. His joking may go too far occasionally, but Allan's a decent enough guy, and some of his bewilderment can be pretty darn funny. In the end; he's a perfect fit for the series; not too serious, but good at heart. ![]() Casey Ellison, the child actor who had a lot to do with Allan's part being a success, now has the least amount known about him. He's done a fair bit of crew work in Hollywood, but other than that, there's few indications of what he's up to now. There's was a news piece about him dating a model not long ago, but that's the only reliable information available at this time. |
